The reordering of St Mary's to make it into a welcoming worship centre fit for the 21st century and beyond is nearly complete. We expect the first service held in it for seven months will be on 12th September.
Until then all our services will continue to be held in our beautiful parish centre adjacent to the church.
On 18th September we are holding an
OPEN DAY
from 11.00am to 3.00pm in our renewed church. We hope you will discover that church is not just for Sunday and that we are actively involved in a way of life that shows itself in different expressions of Christian community.
This is YOUR chance to find out more about US.
You will even have the chance to climb up to the ringing chamber in the bell tower and try your hand at bell ringing!
Free refreshments will be served all day.
On 19th September the Bishop of Carlisle is coming to rededicate St Mary's at a special service at 11.00am. Do come and join us.
(Our 'Buy and Chair to Share Appeal' is still open to anyone who would like the opportunity to be involved in a small way towards the transformation of our church building - contact the vicar)
